Headquartered in California, which has some of the most stringent Tuberculosis testing requirements in the country, no one knows more about the range of TB tests, the nature of the tests, and the means of their administration than we do. We offer every facet of Tuberculosis testing, accompanied with a deep medical understanding of the clinical context. We do it fast, we do it well, we do it accurately, and we never lose sight of the importance of the patient, within the pre-employment workflow.
The TST (Tuberculin Skin Test) is performed by injecting tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD) into the inner surface of the forearm. A potential skin surface reaction to this is observed by our staff 48-72 hours after the injection.
QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QTF) is a blood test that detects the bacteria which causes tuberculosis. QTF delivers a more consistently accurate result (fewer false positives) than does TST, and results are generally available more rapidly.
Chest X-Rays are indicated in cases of positive TB screening tests and for patients with active symptoms of TB. In these cases, Wellnessmart will provide an MD’s prescription for a chest x-ray with one of our local imaging partners.
The TB Risk Assessment offers quick evaluations to pinpoint potential TB exposures, enabling proactive measures for individuals and healthcare providers alike.
